SPRINGFIELD, MO

Funkhana 2009 on May 25th is now in the books! The weather started out looking like rain but turned out perfect. We had 25 cars, 7 from the Corvette Club of Illinois (located in Champaign) http://www.ccofi.org/index.html, and a total of 48 participants. We saw some great driving skills.  We found that most corvette drivers can back into a garage but they cannot drive in forward.  There was a really great array of skill and talent in the washer toss and golf ball throw, but the best diversity was the toilet paper and the plunger show. The drivers and navigators gave the crowd watching plenty to cheer and laugh about.

When all the parking lot fun was over we caravanned to Finley River Park, where there was a little bench racing. Everyone had ideas about what they could have done differently or what someone else did that was funny or better.  We had some great snacks furnished by Sara Coppa and waited for pizza to arrive. After the pizza, prizes were given.

First place went to Jim and Karen Cohen.

Second place to Raymond and Vicki Huddleston.

The Funkhana Impaired to Steve and Cathy Stiff (Corvette Club of Illinois).

Most creative Plunger Work went to Chuck and Kathy Rumfelt.  (probably should ask Chuck about his technique next time you see him).

We feel it was a good time, good food, and good friends that made it great.

Thank you all who joined us.
