Saturday night, Nov 15, the Club met at the Fremont Hills Country Club for our Annual Fall Business Meeting. Jerry Cummings wasn't able to make it, but Rich Coppa; our Vice President did an excellent job of filling in on a short notice. Thanks Rich.

Some old and some new business was discussed, but the main order of business was to elect a new slate of Officers for the upcoming 2009 year. I think we have selected some very capable members to run our Club next year. Chuck Rumfelt was elected as President, Jerry Cummings was elected Vice President, David Baker was elected (screaming and kicking) as Secretary, and Cindy Hagenow was elected to another 2-year term as Treasurer. We, as a Club, need to get behind those who are willing to give up their time and energy to do the Club's business each year. If we didn't have those people, our Club would fail to function and would end up kicked to the curb as many clubs have in the past. Someone has to do the dirty work, and they deserve our complete backing.

One item that comes up each year is what activities do the members want to do in the upcoming year. Our new President will shortly send out announcements as to the date and location of our January Planning Meeting to discuss possible events to have in 2009. Put on your thinking caps, and attend this important meeting. After all, we are a social club, and we need a complete slate of interesting events for the members to attend. We have three events already identified for next year (other than the November business meeting and our annual Christmas party). In May or June, Mike Salmon is planning an event to visit the Bowling Green Corvette Assembly plant, the National Corvette Museum and a side trip that will be very enjoyable while in Kentucky. Joe Pennington is putting together an overnight Mystery Cruise for June 13 & 14. Also, Joe is organizing a 7-day trip for Sept 14-20 to visit the Smokey Mountains National Park, and tour the Biltmore estate in Asheville, NC (Oh, and to drive the "Tail Of The Dragon" at Deals Gap...318 curves in 11 miles, perfect for our Vettes).

The backbone of our club is our social functions (not counting our Vettes), so please seriously consider on attending the Planning meeting, and hopefully bring forth some new event ideas. You don't have to host the proposed event, but it sure would help.
