Getaway to Wine Country

When: September 13 - 14, 2008

We will meet at 7:00AM at the Furniture Row parking lot. It is located at Division and Highway 65

On our way to St. Genevieve, we’ll take the scenic route through Missouri on Route 8 from St. James. We will make a brief stop at Maramec Spring Park . We will arrive around 12 noon and have lunch at The Anvil Saloon. You have to get their Fried Onion Rings. They are outstanding!!

In the afternoon we’ll spend our free time wandering around historic Ste. Genevieve and exploring one or more of the vineyards in the countryside.  Learn all you can about wine making, because there might be a quiz.

At 6:00pm we’ll meet at Tiger Ridge Restaurant for cocktails. Prior to dinner, the club will have the opportunity to stroll down to the Tiger Sanctuary and see the big cats. Dinner will be served at 7:00pm.

On Sunday, there will be no organized activities or trip home. If you want to sleep late or take one last trip downtown, feel free to do so. Everyone will take their own route home.

One night at the Microtel Inn and Suites:  $58.95 plus tax

Great lunch at Anvil Saloon:  $15.00 ea. (estimate)

Delicious dinner at the Tiger Ridge Restaurant: $30.00 plus drinks, gratuity and tax

Bottles of wine and other souvenirs:  whatever your wallet can afford

Scenic countryside drive and fun with friends:  Priceless!

If you decide to join us on this wonderful getaway, we will send you a packet of additional information. The deadline for letting us know of your intention will be August 15^th.
