Stockton Lake State Park Cruise

Stockton State Park Marina

After a beautiful and much needed rain on Friday, Saturday's forecast was for an 80% chance of rain - not good for a dinner cruise.  But, by early Saturday afternoon, the sun was out and sixteen highly polished Corvettes departed the Price Cutter Plus parking lot.  We took Old Route 66 west out of Springfield and then Highway 39 to Greenfield where we stopped for a rest.  After many compliments on our cars from the employees and customers at the Convenient Shop, we took a nice drive north on Hwy H to Stockton Lake.  Once we arrived at the state park, we positioned our cars for photos with the marina full of sailboats as a backdrop.

Three additional Vettes (OK - one was a truck ) met us at the diner where we enjoyed a good meal overlooking the marina.  Everyone was having a good time based on all the laughter.

When we got ready to depart for our cruise home, it was like rats leaving a sinking ship!  Somehow (my directions were not very clear on the return route) Vettes were leaving the diner in all directions in small groups.  I trust that everyone found their way home.

A special thanks to Dean K. for his wonderful photos of all the Vettes and members.

I enjoyed hosting the event and am very appreciative of the number of members that were able to attend.  Hope to see a good turnout for Lyle and Anny's incredible dinner cruise & sightseeing at Joe's Crab Shack & Branson Landing on September 16th.

See you all on the 16th, Joe
